About the Writer/Director

Jonathan Dee received his BA in Film Directing and Art History from Loyola Marymount University and is currently an MFA candidate in the Film Directing program at Columbia University. Upon graduation from LMU, he was meritoriously awarded a one year Sony TAG Fellowship for directing. His film Lily went on to win numerous awards including Best Director and Best Film at the DGA. Since then, Jonathan has directed narrative and commercial work around the globe for automobile brands including Audi, BMW, and Chrysler. His most recent narrative project, A Mighty Nice Man, based on a Patricia Highsmith short story, is the current recipient of a 2013-14 HBO Development Award.

About the Producer

Daniella Kahane is an award-winning writer/director/producer. She has worked for Academy-Award winning producer Wendy Finerman (Forrest Gump, Stepmom, The Devil Wears Prada), and recently as an associate producer on Academy Award nominated Edet Belzberg’s (Underground Children, The Recruiter) documentary Watchers of the Sky (Sundance ’ 14). Furthermore Daniella was executive producer on Samantha Buck’s documentary Best Kept Secret (IFFB Audience Award, Gotham Award nominee) released on POV this fall. She was also the key writer and producer of the short Top Floor (SXSW ’13, GenArt ’13). She is currently developing a feature written by Mark Jude Poirier (Smart People, Goats) and producing a number of other shorts, the latest of which won her a Young Producer Award from HBO. Daniella graduated summa cum laude from Barnard College, and is currently pursuing an MFA from Columbia University, School of the Arts. It is here that Daniella collaborated with Jonathan Lee for Thesis Film A Mighty Nice Man, based on a short story by Patricia Highsmith and starring Billy Magnussen and Kristen Connolly.
