About the Co-Writer/Director

Victor was born in Tlalnepantla, Mexico and raised in Los Angeles, California where he graduated from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television in 2007. While a student, he completed several short films including Ayer, Antier and Botiando.

Victor is currently pursing his MFA in Directing in Columbia University’s Film Program, where he has completed several short film projects including Elotes and Fireworks. Fireworks, which Victor directed and produced in 2012, went on to play to wide acclaim at the Tribeca, Los Angeles, and Slamdance Film Festivals. Victoria, Guanajuato is his thesis film and he is currently developing his first feature film.

About the Producer

Alexandra Vivas was born in Tabasco, Mexico. She graduated from Monterrey’s Institute of Technology with a BA in Communication Sciences. She worked developing the television show of the Supreme Court of Justice in Tabasco and has produced several award-winning short films and the MTV China show, Music Check In: New York. She has worked for the independent production companies Killer Films and Parts and Labor and was the production coordinator for The Heart Machine (SXSW 2014). Her thesis film, Gloom won the Latino category of the DGA Student Awards and has screened at the San Sebastian and Kustendorf Film Festivals.
