MIGUEL SILVEIRA, originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, lives in NYC where he attends Columbia University as an M.F.A. candidate in film directing. After wrapping up his first feature-length documentary I Am a Visitor in Your World (Official Selection, Woodstock Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival), Miguel completed his thesis film at Columbia University, which is a political thriller titled Devil’s Work. The short film, a follow up to his 2010 short, Rooftop Wars, is a study of war in the minds of children in America. A Jury Selects at the 2014 Columbia University Film Festival, Devil’s Work also received the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Production grant, the Caucus Foundation Award for Excellence in Filmmaking, as well as the DGA award for Best Short Film in its category. Miguel is currently developing and directing the Venezuelan chapter of MTV’s documentary series Rebel Music, executive produced by Shepard Fairey.
