About the Writer/Director

Francisca Alegría is a Chilean screenwriter/director, whose work extends from music videos to experimental and narrative short films. Before coming to Columbia, she was selected at the Berlinale Talent Campus. Her short films have travelled to different international film festivals and on 2015 she won the prestigious Katharina Otto-Bernstein Film Fund Award. Now a days, she is developing a feature length script with hopes of directing it in Chile, 2017.

About the Producer

Birgit Gernboeck is New York and Germany-based producer. Over the course of her studies at Columbia, Gernboeck has produced over 10 short films. SUNDAE, directed by Sonya Goddy, premiered at the NYFF in 2015 and screened at the Atlanta Film Festival, and the Florida Film Festival. Gernboeck was granted two Katharina Otto-Bernstein production awards for her thesis films in 2015, and BAKRI received additional support from the German Film Fund.
