Russ lives and works at a motel with his parents. When a seemingly sick girl and her mother come through, Russ becomes fascinated and tries to befriend the girl.

About the Writer/Director

Eric Schuman is a New York-based director, screenwriter, and cinematographer in his fourth year as an MFA Directing Candidate at Columbia University. He graduated with honors from Vassar College as a Film major. When he was in eighth grade, he won the intellectual curiosity award from his school. This is his proudest achievement.

About the Writer

Inger Sveberg Dietrichs is a Norwegian writer and producer. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and in Film Studies from King’s College London, and has worked as an actress in Oslo and Los Angeles. Inger is in her final year as a Creative Producing candidate at Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program. As a writer, Inger has won the 2016 Scriptapalooza fellowship and has twice been a finalist for the Sundance lab.

About the Producer

Birgit Gernböck is a producer based in New York and Germany. Over the course of her studies at Columbia, Gernböck has produced over 10 short films. Sundae, directed by Sonya Goddy, premiered at the NYFF and screened at the Atlanta Film Festival, and the Florida Film Festival. Gernböck was granted two Katharina Otto-Bernstein Film Fund Awards for her thesis films in 2015, and Bakri received additional support from the German Film Fund.
