About the Writer/Director

Frieda Luk has showcased her work in major film festivals around the world. In 2013 she received a Carla Bruni Sarkozy Scholarship to study at La Fémis in Paris. Prior to filmmaking Frieda was a Marshall McLuhan fellow and a member of the McLuhan Global research network at the University of Toronto.

About the Producer

Birgit Gernböck is a producer based in New York and Germany. Over the course of her studies at Columbia, Gernböck has produced over 10 short films. Sundae, directed by Sonya Goddy, premiered at the NYFF and screened at the Atlanta Film Festival, and the Florida Film Festival. Gernböck was granted two Katharina Otto-Bernstein Film Fund Awards for her thesis films in 2015, and Bakri received additional support from the German Film Fund.
