About the Director
Eimi Imanishi is a Japanese filmmaker born in the United States and raised in France. She studied at University College London’s Slade School of Fine Art. Her first narrative short film Battalion to My Beat (2016) was shot in the Western Saharan refugee camp and premiered at TIFF. In 2017, the film won the Canal+ Award at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
About the Writer/Producer
Julia L. Thompson is a Brooklyn-based writer and producer. Her producing credits include short films: The Law of Averages (2016) which screened at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and Battalion to My Beat (2016) which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and won the Canal+ Award for best international short at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. Julia graduated from Columbia University's Film Program with a concentration in Creative Producing. In 2015 she won the Michael Haussman Award for Excellence in Producing at the Columbia University Film Festival.
