About the Director/Co-Writer

Mariana is a Colombian Writer/Director. She has directed short films and commercials in Morocco, Mexico, Colombia and the US and has screened her work in festivals around the world. She is a Columbia University MFA Graduate, and winner of the Milos Forman Directing Fellowship. Her latest short film, Entre tú y Milagros, won the Orizzonti Short Film competition at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in 2020. The short script won the Colombian Film Fund for short film production and the Indian Paintbrush Production Fund in 2019. She is currently writing her first feature, La Botero, which will be shot in Medellín, Colombia.

About the Co-Writer

Nathalie Álvarez Mesén is a Costa Rican-Swedish film writer/director. She started her career in physical theater in Costa Rica before pursuing her BFA degree in Mime Acting at the Stockholm University of the Arts in Sweden. Nathalie graduated from Columbia University's Graduate Film Program in NYC with an MFA in Film Directing/Screenwriting, and is currently in post-production on her first feature film, Clara Sola.  An alumna of the Berlinale Talents, TIFF Filmmaker Lab, NYFF Artist Academy, Cine Qua Non Lab and Talents Guadalajara, Nathalie has written and directed films which have screened at prestigious film festivals all over the world. Her short film, Filip, was awarded Best Live-Action Film Under 15 Minutes at the 2016 Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, and her short film, Asunder, screened at the 2016 Telluride Film Festival was curated by Barry Jenkins as part of their "Calling Cards" program. Both Asunder, and her short film, Letting Go, have been selected as Vimeo Staff Picks. Outside of her own work, Nathalie often collaborates with filmmakers as a screenwriter/co-writer. Fluent in Spanish, Swedish, and English, Nathalie has written and directed films in all three languages and has a cultural background in Latin America and Europe. Most recently, Nathalie co-wrote the Colombian short film, Entre tú y Milagros, winner of the Orizzonti Award for Best Short in the Venice Film Festival 2020.

About the Producer

Jorge Granados Ross is a Mexican filmmaker. He graduated from Boston University and moved to Los Angeles where he worked for companies like Partizan Entertainment, HBO and Amazon Studios doing extensive work in production. Upon his return to Mexico City, he became the Executive Producer for Coca-Cola Media House, Coca-Cola’s innovative in-house agency and production company creating content and advertising for Coca-Cola’s multiple brands. His latest short film, Some Ruins, screened as part of the official competition section of Morelia’s International Film Festival in 2019. He produced the Colombian short film Entre tú y Milagros, which won the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film at the Venice International Film Festival in 2020. He is now pursuing his Film MFA at Columbia University, where he concentrates in directing and screenwriting. He was the recipient of the International Student Fellowship by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
