Muscle Memory

“Muscle Memory” is a conceptual nonlinear short film that follows Tariq, who makes his living as a hoofer like his late father Yayha. On the anniversary of Yahya’s death, he dedicates a dance to him, which triggers childhood memories.

About the Writer/Director
Saladin White II was born and raised in Philly, where he trained as an actor at the “New Freedom Theatre,” and performed around the country. Saladin is a recent graduate of the MFA Directing/Screenwriting program at Columbia University. He is currently developing his first feature that he plans to film. Saladin hopes to create a creative space in Philadelphia that serves the needs of his community. www.saladinwhite.com
About the Producer
Najah Issata Diop is an American producer and writer from Los Angeles based in New York City. Diop received her MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia University in 2020. Her cinematic goal is to offer content that elongates the view of people of color and women that infiltrates the dominant gaze with emotional equity and mutual respect.
