About the Writer/Director

Peter Forbes grew up homeschooled in the Colorado desert. In undergrad, he went to a conservative evangelical college with other sheltered homeschoolers. Their stories inspired him to write and direct The Wood Thrush, about a young woman raised in a fundamentalist home who longs for freedom. His work has placed at Slamdance and Austin Film Festival.
