About the Writer/Director
Minkyu Kang is an award-winning director, screenwriter, and editor based in the United States and South Korea. He directed/wrote/edited short films, TV commercials, documentaries, and art videos, which have been selected and screened at 50+ international film festivals. He is currently developing a feature film.
His recent short film Children of Light won the 28th Director’s Guild of America Student Awards, the 2023 Focus Features Awards for Social and Cultural Impact, the 2023 NBR Student Grant, the 2023 Norman Krauss Prize, the 2022 Katharina Otto-Bernstein Production Grant, and support from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. It's also recently finalisted for the 2023 BAFTA Student Awards and the Student Academy Awards.
About the Producer
Bofan Zhang is a bilingual creative producer based in Los Angeles, holding an MFA Degree in Creative Producing from Columbia University. She is a BAFTA Newcomer talent, a Film Independent Project Involve Producing Fellow, the recipient of Katharina Otto-Bernstein Production Grant and GiGadgets Creative Foundation Award. Her films have been screened at 60+ film festivals worldwide. She produces narrative films, documentaries and commercials in the U.S., China and South Korea. She previously served as a Producer’s Assistant for Sony Executive Lynda Obst (Interstellar, Contact), as the Director of Content Operations at Foton Pictures, and worked part-time in Asian business operations for Ubisoft Film and TV.
