As Colombia descends into insurgent warfare, a family must travel on a perilous road to visit their ailing grandfather. Their fear of kidnapping forces them to rely on their youngest child to conceal their fake identities, exposing him to the reality of war.

About the Writer/Director

Juan Paulo Laserna is an award-winning Colombian director, producer and screenwriter. He attained his BFA with honors from the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he won awards for best directing, editing and film for his feature film β€œLas Malas Lenguas.” He attained his MFA with honors from Columbia University, with concentration on TV Writing and Film Directing.

About the Producer

Valeria Contreras is a Mexican-American writer, director and producer. Her work is inspired by her binational and bilingual upbringing alongside the U.S.-Mexico Border in her hometown of El Paso, Texas. As a creative producer, Valeria champions narratives that highlight the experiences of individuals most impacted by policy decisions, in hopes of using the power of storytelling to advance social change.
