About the Writer/Director

Danielle Therese Dougé is a Haitian American filmmaker from Chicago, IL. Her work centers on explorations of Black womanhood and feminisms, queerness, ancestral knowledge, and intergenerational trauma through magical realism, thriller, and drama. Her recent work includes the shorts She Came Back (2020) and Summertime Pie (2023).

As a producer, her credits include Everything’s Fine (Sorem-Smikle, 2019), Pair (Goodrich, 2023), 25 Frames (Cerin, 2023), Triangle of Perfection (Dimambro, 2023), and Victorine (Cerin, 2024).   

Dougé holds a BA in Radio/TV/Film from Northwestern University and is an MFA Film (Screenwriting) alumna from Columbia University (Class of 2022). She is currently a teaching artist at Developing Artists and a term assistant professor at Barnard College, where she teaches Digital Production, Adaptation, and Advanced Screenwriting.
