About the Writer/Director
Born in a tiny village in Sichuan, Shuqi studied economics in China as a first-generation college student and worked as an intern in Industrial Bank of China and Siemens Ltd. China, Chengdu Branch before she decided to pursue her film-making dreams in America. She currently graduated from MFA in Directing at Columbia University. Shuqi worked as a teaching assistant in Anocha Suwichakornpong’s Directing Class and a mentor at Fundamental Element of Directing Class at Columbia University. She is a recipient of “Dean’s Travel Grant” from Columbia University and ”2024 Katharina Otto-Bernstein Mentorship Grant”. Most of her stories are inspired by woman’s body such as breasts and vagina. She is interested in discussing woman’s issues in present-day by writing down their body’s change. As a local Sichuanese, Shuqi is dedicated in exploring Sichuan’s culture and local stories as well.
About the Producer
Summer holds a master’s from NYU School of Engineering and an MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia University. With experience in Shanghai’s stock research market, she brings a global perspective to film production. Her producing projects have received MFA Production Grants, the 2024 Emerging Filmmakers Grant, the 2024 & 2025 Katharina Otto-Bernstein R&D Prize, selections at Hollywood ShortFest and First International Film Festival, her co-producing work won the 2025 Student Academy Award, among other honors.
