About the Writer/Director

María Cristina is a Puerto Rican multidisciplinary artist who’s worked in animation, interactive storytelling, video games and narrative filmmaking. She has a bachelor’s degree in editing and sound design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a Master’s Degree in Screenwriting from Columbia University in 2025, from where she earned an Emerging Female Filmmaker Award and a Sloan Grant. Her thesis feature called the Night of the Dragon was a finalist for Humanitas award and Austin Film Festival. since graduation, she’s been developing an animated series, and a visual novel.

About the Producer

Joe is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker with a background from Columbia University and UNCSA. As a Director, a Writer, an Actor, an Animator and an Editor, Joe explores the various ways he can bring together his disparate passions into a singular, story-driven vision one project at a time. He is currently developing a 2d hand drawn animated pilot, and a visual novel.
